CA

Even at the foundation level, the Chartered Accountancy (CA) profession is held in high regard in the industry. After passing the CA Foundation level, the next CA course in line is the CA Intermediate course. I would like to provide an answer to one of the most common questions regarding the fees involved in the course, which encompasses the CA Inter registration fee along with the CA Inter course fee. I hope to present an informed answer in the following paragraphs, detailing the CA Inter course fees, while addressing what students are likely to encounter while planning for this pivotal juncture of their Chartered Accountancy pursuit.
The Chartered Accountancy course is divided into two levels, and CA Intermediate is the second one. Just like the previous level, the next step is governed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), and this level is called CA Intermediate. In this level, the student builds on the foundation set in CA Foundation, while learning more complex accounting skills in subjects like accounting, taxation, and other related subjects, as well as law and auditing.
First is the Direct Entry method. CA graduates or post post-graduates, or those with similar qualifications can go for this route.
The CA Intermediate course fee within India is designed to be easily affordable while meeting necessary training and academic needs. Mainly, the foundation CA Intermediate registration fee is charged, alongside exam form fees and compulsory ICITSS training fees. Students should set aside funds for additional coaching and study materials if necessary. CA Intermediate can be tackled systematically with the right approach, allowing for the dream of becoming a Chartered Accountant to come true effortlessly.
In India, the total fees for the CA Intermediate course depend on whether the student registers for the two groups simultaneously or just opts for one. The particularizations are as follows:
This is the basic CA Inter registration fee every student is obliged to pay to the ICAI.
This fee (₹1,000) may be paid at Intermediate registration or later, at the time of Articleship registration.
There are higher fees for international centers like Dubai, Kathmandu, or Muscat.
Before every student starts the articleship, he must complete the ICITSS, which includes the IT and Orientation Course.
Here’s an approximate calculation of the CA Intermediate fees in India (for both groups):
For Single Group Registration, the total cost will be slightly lower, in the range of ₹28,000–₹30,000, depending on additional factors like training fees.
Students can pay their CA Intermediate registration fees online through the ICAI Self Service Portal (SSP). The process is simple:
Being aware of the CA Intermediate registration fee and other expenses can help parents and students manage their finances. CA is a long journey with multiple stages, and understanding fees ensures clarity with no surprises.
The CA Inter registration fees for both groups are ₹15,000, plus ₹2,000 as student activity fees.
Individual students may register for a single group after paying the registration fee of ₹11,000 alongside the activity fee.
Registration fees do not cover coaching fees, which are charged by various institutions at different rates. The ICAI registration fee only pays for enrollment, study materials, and the exam.
